It takes a community . . .

Many, many people contribute countless hours to achieve the work of our church community. Meet our staff and some of those who are instrumental in the
day-to-day life of Duncan United. Dozens of others work behind the scenes, their contributions outlined on other pages of this site - UCW groups, Thrift Store, music leaders, Mother's Morning Out, AOTS, Healing Pathway, Youth Group leaders, Sunday School teachers, Community Dinner, Harvest Fair, and more. Thank you all!

Cathy Coulter

Cathy Coulter became Duncan United Church's Parish Nurse in the fall of 2008. She received her nursing degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1988 and pursued a wide variety of work and travel experiences, working in recreation for people with disabilities in England, teaching English as a Second Language in Spain and Canada, and working in the L'Arche community. In the last ten years, she has specialized in geriatric and palliative care nursing and works part-time with the Victoria Hospice Palliative Response Team.

Cathy and husband Jim moved to Duncan from Alberta
in 2005 and are happily discovering the delights of the Island. Cathy enjoys making music with the Taizé group, staying young at heart with the youth group, hanging out with the Circle of Friends, and watching things come up in the garden.

Cathy is concurrently working towards her Parish Nursing certificate and is thrilled to have the opportunity to share in the lives of the Duncan United Church family.
