Healing Pathway - a healing ministry in our parish community This is an exciting time in our United Church of Canada! Through the Naramata Center and its Healing Pathway programme, the United Church is reclaiming its tradition of healing. Healing is seen as God's love flowing through us to bring balance and harmony to the whole person. |
As Healing Pathway practitioners we enter into a prayerful mode and open ourselves to that love, allowing it to flow to another. Our work complements the medical system as illness can have aspects of the emotional, mental, and spiritual as well as the physical. We use the tradition of laying-on of hands and while this is an ancient Christian practice, modern science is now taking an interest in it.

Appointment times for healing are offered at no charge in the first three weeks of each month. At a session, you will be attended by two volunteers who will explain the procedure fully and proceed only when you are comfortable. It can be conducted seated or lying (fully clothed) on a cushioned healing table. Those attending you will guide their hands in a sequence along your body, either with their hands touching you or with them some distance away - as you choose. They will invite God's healing energy to fill every cell with light peace and healing power. The one-hour session closes with a blessing and a prayer for continued healing. We believe it is God's love that has the power to heal.
