"In Peace Goodwill"
"We will remember them"
"And they shall beat their swords into ploughshares"
Created by local artist, Michael Nuttgens, and installed in 1996, the Veteran's window marks the 50th anniversary of D-Day, the invasion of occupied Europe on June 6, 1944. The crests represent the Canadian Army, the Royal Canadian Navy, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and Canada's Merchant Navy. Side panels were later added honouring the 125th anniversary of the R.C.M.P. and women in the services - R.C.A.F. Women's Division, Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service, Canadian Women's Army Corps, and the Nursing Sisters.
Longtime church member, Allan Gadsden was instrumental in the commissioning and installation of several of our windows, including this one.
